Where to find state jobs in Oregon

To begin, create an account in NEOGOV and create an online application. The instructions below are for what to do next. Info for Veterans at this link.
The next step is to wait for announcements to open. There are three different places to look for state jobs because announcements are separated into three groups.

Section 1:

“Job Opportunities” has now replaced the term “open competitive”. This area is where anyone can apply to any of the jobs listed here. Jobs can be sorted by category, location, and by agency and searched.

Section 2:

“Internal Postings” is where internal (Agency Promotion) postings for DOC and state employee only announcements will be found. There will also be Job Rotations posted in this section. Jobs can be sorted by category, location, and by agency and searched.

Section 3:

“Priority Lists” will contain the DOC transfer postings, agency layoff’s and hardship announcements. Look for more information soon on the recruitment web site www.odocjobs.com on how to get on transfer lists.

  • Look for the security series Corporal through Captain to be found in the “Internal Postings” (section two) when it re-opens (soon).

  • Transport (Correctional Officer) will have an announcement posted so we can separate them from standard transfer requests.

  • Job Interest Cards are only sent for announcements posted in the open competitive section (section one).

  • No notifications go out for jobs posted in the “Internal Postings” area.
